Radin Inten II International Airport is one of the international airports in Lampung Province. Radin Inten II International Airport is a public airport organized by PT Angkasa Pura II. Radin Inten II Airport Bandar Lampung is officially designated as an international standard airport. The decision of Radin Inten II Airport as an international airport was in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.
The airport adopts a futuristic style and has a four-story parking building. The construction of a parking building with a capacity of 800 to 1000 vehicles is aimed at anticipating an increase in the flow of tourists to Lampung's main destination. Among them are the surfing arena of Tanjung Setia Beach, Way Kambas National Park (ASEAN Heritage Park Way Kambas), the natural habitat of the Kiluan Bay dolphins, and underwater charm on Pahawang Island.
To support the development of Radin Intan II International Airport as an international airport in 2019, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will also build a railroad from Tanjungkarang to Radin Intan II International Airport in South Lampung Branti to unravel congestion and arrange transportation modes better. The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will intensively optimize railroad transportation to be the choice of mass transportation in Bandar Lampung. Starting from the construction of airport trains to commuter trains in the city and between cities.
Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said the Ministry of Transportation will build the Airport and Skybridge train stations which facilitate train access to Radin Inten II Airport. The construction is targeted to be completed by the end of 2020.
